Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Skyland Trail North Transitional Living is part of a nationally recognized nonprofit mental health treatment organization. Skyland Trail treats each client as an individual and creates evidence-based, tailored treatment plans that include a holistic approach to care. The North Transitional Living facility serves as a supportive living environment for clients participating in day treatment and the intensive outpatient program (IOP) through Skyland Trail. Skyland Trail North Transitional Living is conveniently located about 2 miles from the outpatient treatment facility, offering an easy commute to treatment. Clients meet weekly with an independence coach, who helps ensure clients are taking medications, adjusting well, and assists with needs like transportation, time management, and finances. Clients may also enroll in the Life Enrichment Adult Program (LEAP), which includes support groups, art and music classes, fitness opportunities, socializing, and book clubs. Skyland Trail offers vocational services and primary care through the Dorothy C. Fuqua Center. Each client shares an apartment equipped with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette, and one bathroom with another client. Clients also enjoy access to common areas, a larger community kitchen, gardens, and indoor and outdoor dining areas. Clients can continue staying at Skyland Trail North for a year after completing outpatient treatment, but must uphold community standards. Skyland Trail is unable to support the needs of clients with a history of substance use and will refer them to sober housing options. Skyland Trail is in-network with most major private insurance plans and offers financial aid to reduce private pay costs for eligible families.
