Seeking Integrity is a residential treatment program for men specializing in the treatment of sex addiction, pornography addiction, chronic infidelity, and co-occurring substance abuse in a home-like and healing environment. Their 3,300 square foot facility offers a newly constructed home with semi-private rooms and ensuite bathrooms for up to 8 men at a time. The home is monitored 24/7 by experienced staff, there to ensure individual needs are met. An on-site chef prepares nutritious meals Monday-Friday and assists clients with weekend meal planning. The program offers flexible technology policies, allowing patients to stay in touch with loved ones during designated and supervised times, after completing their first 72 hours of treatment. Seeking Integrity also offers regular online workshops and support groups for individuals with sex addictions and their family members and partners who may be struggling with betrayal trauma. Seeking Integrity is led by Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. David Fawcett, who are both directly and consistently involved with treatment as experienced and leading world experts in substance abuse and sex addictions. The rest of the clinical team is comprised of master’s and PhD level experts with at least 10 years of experience with providing quality care for co-occurring sexual and substance abuse disorders. Patients are provided with individually tailored treatment plans to fit their specific needs based on individual backgrounds, beliefs, goals, and culture. Clients are offered a 14 day, 21 day, or 28 day program depending on their treatment needs, where they will receive personalized and structured care with a 3:1 client-to-staff ratio. Treatment involves both individual and group therapy that is behaviorally focused, and is typically paired with evidence-based practices, social learning, psychoeducation, and 12-step support. Psychiatrists on staff may also recommend and prescribe antidepressant or antianxiety medications when appropriate. Treatment may involve a full bio-psycho-social and psychosexual evaluation, trauma identification and treatment, addiction education, social learning and peer accountability, 12-step sexual recovery participation, shame resilience, self-care, along with alternative therapeutic methods such as art therapy, adventure therapy, or psychodrama therapy. Clients can participate in free webinars or drop-in discussion groups both before and after completing their residential programs, an opportunity that is also available to the patient’s partner and family. Their unique continuum of care includes individualized aftercare planning, weekly alumni support meetings, and continuing care coordination with outside resources. Seeking Integrity also offers a variety of online services and treatment for individuals with sex addiction, partners of a sex addict who are struggling with betrayal trauma, and couples whose relationships have been negatively impacted by sex addiction. Most workgroups typically meet weekly for 90 minutes of live-facilitated and affordable sessions. Workgroups available for men with sex addiction include sex or porn addiction 101, rebuilding relationships, healing attachment wounds, inner child workgroup, healthy intimacy and sexuality, betrayed partners, ‘why men struggle to love’ workgroup, and a spiritual abuse workgroup about overcoming religious trauma. Depending on the subject, workgroups are broken up into 1-3 different parts that last from 6-12 weeks each. Seeking Integrity also offers their Empowered Women’s Retreat, a weekend long retreat for women who have experienced relationship betrayal. Multiple licensed therapists facilitate the event which involves group trauma and anger release sessions, boundaries and trust building, and exploring how to move forward after betrayal. Their residential program uniquely and holistically offers specialized care for men who are dually diagnosed with sex and substance abuse addictions. They place importance on addressing and treating both co-occurring conditions with the knowledge that relapse from 1 addiction leads to a relapse for both, as partaking in 1 behavior automatically triggers thoughts of the other. With evidence-based modalities, experiential therapies, and family involvement, Seeking Integrity provides treatment for both addictions simultaneously.
