Honu House Hawaii

This small, island-based treatment center aims to provide a holistic approach to addiction by treating all facets of a person through individual therapy, group therapy and holistic therapies in their residential programs. The center is located in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, providing a relaxing and stress-free environment for recovery among the tropical greenery and pristine beaches. The team at the treatment center provides treatment for patients with process addictions such as sex, gambling, phone and porn addiction. In addition to process addictions, they offer programs for substance use disorders and many co-occurring disorders as well.
Honu House uses alternative therapies to better understand their patients’ physical, mental and spiritual health. They use acupuncture, cold plunging, infrared saunas, IV therapy and meditation to help their clients deal with triggers and build better self-awareness. Patients can also engage in nature immersion experiences like surf therapy, waterfall swimming, deep sea fishing, snorkeling and other adventures. The team at Honu House believes that when patients find a sense of purpose in their lives, their chances of recovery are stronger. To help uncover patients’ meaning in their lives, the counselors use motivational interviewing, eye movement therapy (EMDR), 12 step groups, internal family systems therapy and more.
