Surrounded by trees in Murrieta, Georgia, Hand in Hand Recovery offers holistic, trauma-informed care for men with substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns in an outpatient setting. Parking is available at the building and the 30 bus line, with a stop just outside the entrance, provides access to southern Cobb county and downtown Atlanta via connection to the blue line. Hand in Hand Recovery offers day treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient treatment. Clients in day treatment receive highly structured programs 5 days a week, several hours a day, which include group counseling, individual therapy, medication management, family therapy, and more. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is still structured, but requires fewer hours per week and can bridge the gap between inpatient or day treatment programs and outpatient care or stand alone. Outpatient treatment at Hand in Hand recovery requires less of a time commitment than more intensive options but still offers individual, group, and family therapy as well as medication management. It is ideal for people with less severe addiction. Hand in Hand Recovery Center offers trauma-informed therapy, which implements evidenced-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help clients heal from the trauma that may contribute to their substance use. They also offer anger management to help clients avoid triggers, experience more positive emotions, and achieve long-term recovery. Clients participate in psychoeducational groups, which both provide essential information on addiction and give clients an opportunity to share their experiences and learn from other men’s experience. Family therapy helps men and their loved ones grow in positive communication and relationship styles. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available to help with opioid and alcohol recovery. Life skills training promotes a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise, home economics including cooking classes, financial guidance, time management, career development, which includes resume writing, interview preparation, and more. Hand in Hand Recovery also offers outdoor activities and expressive arts therapy, including music and art therapy.
