Located in central San Diego, Bayview Men’s Recovery helps men cultivate sustainable recovery and sobriety from alcohol and drug addiction. Their programs blend diverse evidence-based, experiential, and holistic approaches, creating a nurturing environment for men to heal and grow. Their 6-week day treatment (partial hospitalization), 90-day intensive outpatient, and general outpatient programs offer a flexible approach to recovery. Because of the complex nature of addiction, the team at Bayview Men’s Recovery tailors their solutions to the needs of each client. Clients can participate in a combination of evidence-based therapies, medical and psychiatric care, and a range of holistic interventions to address all aspects of recovery, including mental health. Therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), process groups, and relapse prevention. Since addiction and mental health issues are deeply related, regardless of which predates the other, Bayview Men’s Recovery believes the most effective approach is to treat the “whole person” by addressing the underlying causes of addiction and mental illness. While in treatment, clients can experience: Though not exclusively designed for gay and bisexual men, Bayview Men’s Recovery Center clinicians have extensive experience working with gay and bisexual men, providing compassionate and understanding care. Regardless of a client’s sexuality, the all-male environment takes away distraction and allows clients to quickly lower their guard to focus on struggles uniquely experienced by men in recovery. During treatment, clients go to the gym and AA meetings together, as well as enjoy San Diego sober life off site, resulting in a strong community that can endure after the program. Aftercare plans provide drug screenings, case management, career support, and financial planning. Bayview Men’s Recovery feels like home in the vibrant Mission Valley neighborhood with convenient access to urban amenities and outdoor activities like hiking. Clients stay in shared rooms and share access to large communal spaces indoors and outdoors. To provide accessibility to care, Bayview offers reliable and convenient transportation directly to its facility. They provide airport pickups as well as transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, and any other necessary errands.
